Police fly mortal remains of two officers to Accra

Constables Emmanuel Akowuah and Adam Suley were killed during a shoot-out with armed robbers in Zuarungu in the Upper East Region

The mortal remains of the two cops killed in a robbery attack while on patrol duties in Zuarungu township – Constable Emmanuel Akowuah and Constable Adam Sule, have been flown to Accra for further funeral arrangements.

Dr George Akufo Dampare, the Inspector General of Police, led a farewell ceremony, Friday 17 December, for the two slain officers at the Pwalugu Police Public Safety Training School before the bodies were airlifted by a Ghana Armed Forces helicopter.

Prayers, led by the Police Chaplain, were said for the souls of the slain constables for peaceful eternal rest with their maker.


The police have placed a GHC50,000 bounty on the armed robbers who shot and killed two police officers in Zuarungu in the Upper East Region.

 Constables Emmanuel Akowuah and Adam Suley, according to a police report, lost their lives as they responded to distress calls of a robbery attack on a shop in the Zuarungu township in the Upper East Region.
