A pro-New Patriotic Party (NPP) group in the Upper West Region, known as the Third Elevation of Dombo, has made a donation to Jamiat Girls Senior High School, aimed at enhancing the school’s administrative functions.
The group, which was officially launched on 26 May 2024, in Jirapa, is dedicated to rallying support for Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP’s presidential candidate, as well as for the party’s parliamentary candidates in the region.
During the handover ceremony, Iddrisu Bomison, the coordinator for NPP volunteer groups in the region, known as V-Connect, emphasised that the donation is part of their broader strategy to support the NPP’s campaign efforts in the Wa Central Constituency and beyond, while reiterating the group’s commitment to the success of the party in the upcoming 2024 elections.
Leading the delegation, NPP regional chairman, Alhaji Aziz Abdul Rahman presented the school with 12 chairs, a teacher’s desk, and a bookshelf. He also pledged to upgrade the school’s administration block into a modern facility to further improve the educational environment for both students and staff.
Expressing his gratitude, Yakubu Mahadeen, the assistant headmaster in charge of administration at Jamiat Girls SHS, welcomed the support.
He acknowledged the ongoing needs of the school, inviting other individuals, groups, or institutions to contribute to the improvement of the learning outcomes of the school. “It’s a government institution, and we will need support from anybody. We need development,” he stated.
Mahadeen also expressed his appreciation to the NPP government for previous support, including the provision of a school bus, a 12-unit classroom block, a fence wall, and a bungalow.
He lauded the Third Elevation of Dombo group for their timely intervention, noting that the donation was both necessary and impactful. “You have done well, and we need more,” he concluded.
The donation is seen as a strategic move by the NPP to strengthen its presence in the region and to ensure that the party’s candidates secure significant votes in the forthcoming elections.
