He made the presentation at the launch of the festival held at the forecourt of the Ayeboafo Palace (Pramaso) on Friday 25 November 2022, after paying his respect to the Omanhene of the Bekwai traditional area, Nana Osei Kwadwo II, while he sat in state to exchange pleasantries with his guess.

The “Odotobri Festival” will be an annual festival that will be celebrated by the people of Bekwai. The festival will be celebrated annually on Easter Monday starting from 2023.

Commitment to Bekwai

Addressing journalists on the sidelines of the launch of the festival, Mr Poku-Adusei, noted that he is committed to the development of the Bekwai district and to the well-being of the indigenes of his place of birth.

He added that he looks forward to making further contributions to the planning and execution of the new festival that the chiefs and elders of the Bekwai traditional area have decided to institute.

“The “Odotobri festival” is long overdue as far as I am concerned. As an indigene of Bekwai, I have a fair understanding of the history of the place and I clearly identify with the decision of “Nananom” to choose the name “Odotobri” Ralph Poku-Adusei said.

“I am committed to the celebration and I will do everything within my means to make the festival a success.

“I urge all other Ghanaians of Bekwai origin to join in and contribute to the maiden edition of the festival and future celebrations” he added.

Earlier support

Mr Poku-Adusei, made an earlier presentation of two thousand Ghana cedis (Ghc2,000.00) to support the activities of the planning committee ahead of the official launch of the Odotobri festival.
