S/R: One feared dead, three injured in Mpaha land dispute

Two clans in Mpaha in the Central Gonja District clashed on Sunday over a piece of land leading to gunshot wounds

At least one person is feared dead following a land dispute between two clans in the Central Gonja District of the Savannah Region, the police said.

Three others are nursing gun shot wounds as the Losunpe and Kijasa clans at Mpaha clashed over a piece of land on Sunday (23 May).

The police tell Asaase News that some houses in the area were also torched in the melee.

A joint police-military patrol team has been deployed to the community to maintain law and order. Calm has since returned to the Mpaha town, according to eyewitnesses.
