Salaga North: NPP constituency chairman Alhaji Adam Mahama passes away

Alhaji Adam Mahama, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) chairman for Salaga North, died on Monday (15 July) at the Tamale Teaching Hospital.

Mahama, who had served as the party’s constituency chairman since its creation in 2012, was buried the same day in accordance with Islamic customs in the town of Kpalbe, located in the Savannah Region.

In a statement dated 15 July 2024, the NPP expressed condolences to Mahama’s family.

“He was a true party man and has [duly] paid his dues to the party and country,” the statement read. “The New Patriotic Party send condolences to the family of our late chairman and whoever is bereaved by the huge loss.”

The statement also announced the postponement of the party’s presidential candidate Mahamudu Bawumia‘s scheduled “Community Connect Tour” in Kpalbe, which was set for Tuesday (16 July). The event has been postponed until further notice.

“May the soul of our late chairman rest in the bosom of the Almighty Allah,” the statement concluded.
