Samira Bawumia donates medical supplies to health facilities in Oti Region
The donation was made to Worawora government hospital and health centers and the Damanko health center and CHPS compound in the Oti Region
The Second Lady of Ghana, Hajia Mrs Samira Bawumia, who is known for her passion for maternal health in Ghana has donated medical supplies to health facilities in the Nkwanta North and Biakoye districts in the Oti Region.
The donation was made to Worawora government hospital and health centers in the Biakoye district/constituency as well as the Damanko health center and CHPS compound in the Nkwanta North district/constituency.
The donation forms part of efforts by the Samira Empowerment and Humanitarian Projects (SEHP) to improve general health outcomes and promote universal health care among women and children in Ghana.
At the Worawora government hospital and health centers in the Biakoye district, The Second Lady provided medical supplies and equipment which included medical beds with mattresses, medical apparel, digital infrared thermometers, earloop face masks, medical gloves, syringes, sutures, orthopedic sets, needles, drainage accessories, medical, drapes/liners, catheters, face shields, suction- non-conductive turbine, plastic medical basins, plastic forceps and dressing.
At the Damanko health center and CHPS compound in the Nkwanta North district Mrs Samira Bawumia also supplied medical apparel, nose mask, tabletop microscope, cotton wool, vital signs monitor, surgical emergency set (trays and wound closure tools), syringes, cleaning supplies, needles, drainage/irrigation masks, intravenous sets, drapes/linens, catheters, medical positioners, tubing corrugated supplies, Sterilization Tools and Crutches.
This benevolent act by the second lady is not the first of its kind in the Oti Region. In 2019, the First Lady donated medical supplies and equipment valued at approximately 500,000 Cedis to nine health facilities in the Nkwanta North district and Nkwanta South municipality
