Savannah Region: GIPC holds sensitisation forum for business owners

The Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) on Tuesday 24 May 2022 held a sensitisation forum for business owners in the Savannah Region.

Various stakeholders from the agricultural sector, private and public sectors and business actors attended the programme.

The GIPC – a government entity tasked to promote businesses in the country – educated participants on the need to register their businesses to help attract more investors.

Speaking on the sidelines of the programme, the Savannah Regional Coordinating Council in Damongo, the Director of Investor Service Division Ashong-Lartey Edward noted that the GIPC as a government agency is mandated to promote, coordinate and to encourage investments in the Ghanaian economy.

The forum offered business owners the knowledge to grow their business.

“On this particular mission, one of the key things that we are seeking to do is to work with the various stakeholders here to identify specific business opportunities, profile them and then market them to potential investors both Ghanaian and foreigners,” he said.

He, however, noted that there are a number of businesses in the Savannah Region which are contributing to the country’s economic growth but are not registered with the GIPC. He therefore encouraged such businesses to register for the centre to assist them.
