Savannah Region: Residents demonstrate over serial killings in Bole

According to the residents of Bole, no arrests have been made by the police in the area

Residents in the Bole district on Saturday 8 June 2024 hit the principal streets of Bole with the “Stop Bole Killings Now” demonstration to register their displeasure over recent killings in the area.

Protestors dressed in red attire holding placards with the descriptions, “Our lives matters, Women and children are crying, Hmmmm Bole, Stop Bole killing now,” among others.

According to the residents, no arrests have been made by the police in the area.

What triggered Saturday’s protest was the recent killing of a watchman at Bole Girl’s Model Junior High School.

Two others have also been killed on separate occasions in one month.

A group known as “Concern Citizens of Bole”, presented a petition to the Minister of Interior through the Bole Divisional Police Command after a successful protest in the early hours of Saturday (8 June).

The protesters demanded  swift action to restore peace, order and hope in the community.

They also wanted an assurance from authorities that perpetrators will be brought to justice.
