Seth Acheampong: Eastern Region poised to host memorable 67th Independence Day celebration

The Eastern Regional Minister, Seth Acheampong, says his region is adequately prepared to host a memorable 67th Independence Day celebration slated for Wednesday (6 March) in Koforidua.

The special guest of honour for this year’s Independence Day celebration will be President Alhassan Quattara of Côte d’Ivoire.

This year’s celebration will be under the theme: “Our Democracy Our Pride”.

Speaking to Kwaku Nhyira-Addo on the Asaase Breakfast Show on Monday (4 March) Acheampong said the final rehearsal is taking place today (4 March) to ensure a smooth celebration.

“We are doing everything possible to ensure that every person we bring in, is properly taken care of, by way of hospitality. We assure people that we will give our best in terms of security. So everything is under control.

“The IGP and his men are in town and they have been in and out of Koforidua in the last two weeks. The CDS, service commanders have all been in and out of Koforidua in the last two weeks.”

“And I know this morning (4 March), almost all of them are in town to look at the final rehearsal to be sure everything we put up on Wednesday is well done and will be appreciated by all Ghanaians,” Acheampong said.
