Shatta Wale and Medikal hold freedom wave concert at Accra Stadium

The dancehall artiste said they are organising the concert to celebrate their fans for their support throughout the year

Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale and hip hop musician, Medikal are set to thrill fans at the second edition of ‘Freedom Wave’ Concert at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The dancehall artiste said they are organising the concert to celebrate their fans for their support throughout the year and it is also an act of giving back to society this festive season.

“We want to give back to society and we felt like the fans have been so supportive to us, so we decided that we are going to do this annually and do this properly. We decided that we are going to put this whole beautiful act out there,” Shatta Wale said.

“[On 25] we are doing a remix of Freedom Wave with the fans at the Accra Sports Stadium again and close 10am in the morning,” he said.

He said the love the street shows them is the reason why they don’t turn their backs on them.

“What we did last year at the stadium is every artiste’s dream to get that kind of numbers,” he said. “You know companies will pay a huge sum of money to get such a crowd like this for a beautiful concert.”

“But this is the love the street shows us every day that is why we don’t turn our back on the street when we are on the streets,” he said.

The second edition of the Freedom Wave Concert takes off on Sunday (25 December) at the Accra Sports Stadium.
