Fella Makafui was born on 19 August 1995 in the Volta Region, Ghana. She is an actress and philanthropist.

She is most recognised for her performance in Yolo (a Ghanaian television series).

Here are five facts you probably didn’t know about her: 

A humble background

She is a native of Anfoega Akukome in the Volta Region of Ghana. She was born and raised there. Her mother raised her after her father reportedly abandoned them when she was young.  After finishing her primary education at Kabore School Complex, the actress had her secondary education at Kpando Senior High School.

University of Ghana graduate

She enrolled at the University of Ghana. Speaking during an interview session with Giovani Caleb alongside her husband Medikal on TV3’s Showbiz 360 entertainment show, she claimed that she studied Public Administration.

A fantastic actress

Her efforts have been decorated with honorary titles. For instance, she was honoured with the Most Promising Actress from Ghana title at the City People Entertainment Award in 2016. In addition, she was awarded the best actress at UMB Ghana tertiary awards in 2018.

Actress and entrepreneur Fella Makafui’s latest movie, RESONANCE, premiered at the Silverbird Cinemas on 11 May 2024, to a sold-out audience. The event was a huge success, with fans and industry professionals alike praising the film’s captivating storyline and Fella’s impressive performance.

A passionate enterpreneur

Besides her acting career, she is also an entrepreneur with a chain of businesses in the country. She is the owner of a drink and wine store, a beauty line, a clothing line, and Richhills Property. She also runs a foundation, Fella Makafui Foundation, through which she reaches out to the poor and needy, donating to Accra Psychiatric Hospital and a community centre in her hometown.

Stunning beauty

Fella is known for her stunning beauty and fashion sense, often dazzling fans with her stylish outfits and glamorous red carpet looks. She is also a philanthropist at heart, using her platform to give back to the community and support various charitable causes.

In recent years, Fella has expanded her brand beyond acting and entrepreneurship, becoming a social media influencer with a large following on platforms like Instagram and YouTube. In the middle of a divorce settlement

Fella Makafui narrated how her husband, Medikal is trying to cheat her out of their joint properties after filing for divorce in January.

In a document circulating online, Fella Makafui submitted an urgent petition to the Director General of the Ghana Police Service, seeking an investigation into alleged false news publications made by Medikal on social media.

In her petition, Makafui claims that Medikal’s social media posts have endangered her life and tarnished her reputation. She asserts that these posts violate Section 208 of the Criminal Code of 1960, Act 29.

Makafui was married to Medikal on 7 March 2020. The couple decided to divorce in January 2024 but agreed to co-parent their daughter and share financial responsibilities for their house in East Legon Hills.

Despite facing some controversies and criticisms in the past, Fella has remained resilient and focused on her goals, continuing to inspire and empower others with her success story. With her talent, drive, and determination, Fella Makafui is undoubtedly a rising star in the Ghanaian entertainment industry, and her future looks brighter than ever.
