SONA 2024: Government to launch performance tracker in March this year, says Akufo-Addo

The president said the performance tracker will ensure transparency and accountability in the execution of infrastructure projects

President Akufo-Addo has said that the government is poised to introduce a performance tracker to ensure transparency and accountability in the execution of infrastructure projects across the country.

Delivering the 2024 State of the Nation Address (SONA 2024) in Parliament on Tuesday (27 February), the president said the government will launch the tracker in March this year.

President Akufo-Addo said the tracker will help address long-standing concerns about the accuracy and reliability of official project presentations, particularly the past use of artists’ impressions to depict final outcomes.

Speaking about the initiative, the president emphasised the need to uphold standards and deliver tangible results to the people.

He stressed that the performance tracker will serve as a reliable mechanism for showcasing the progress and impact of infrastructure projects, which will help instil trust and confidence among citizens in the transparency of the state and workings of governments.
