Supreme Court nominee to aspiring law students: Keep writing the law entrance exams till you pass

Justice Adibu Asiedu

A Supreme Court nominee, Justice Samuel Kwame Adibu Asiedu has asked aspiring law school students not to give up on their first attempt when writing the entrance exams into the Ghana Law School.

Appearing before the appointments committee of Parliament on Wednesday (19 October 2022), the Appeal Court judge, who is being considered for the Supreme Court of Ghana, Justice Adibu Asiedu, said, “I will not ask any young man to change the profession he aspires to attain. In fact, my own brother wrote the [law] school entrance exams, the first time he failed, he wanted to stop and I told him that he should write it as many times as will get him to pass.

“So he wrote the time he failed and then the third time and he passed. So the advice I will give to the young ones is that they should learn and learn, write and continue to write till they pass the exams so they can enter the Law School.”

He called for massive investments into law education in the country to open up the space.

Justice Adibu Asiedu added, “Let me say that we have Makola [Law School] in Kumasi and Madina as well. So if it is decentralization, that is already in place. The Kumasi ‘Makola’ that I made reference to, doesn’t have a campus of its own. So we need investment into infrastructure if we want to make headway.
