‘The Golden Hands’ boxing event relocated to Bukom Boxing Arena

The highly anticipated boxing event, “The Golden Hands,” organised by Legacy Fight Promotions and Shiatse Promotions, has been moved to the Bukom Boxing Arena inside the Trust Sports Emporium (TSE) in Accra.

Originally scheduled to take place at the Treehouse Restaurant in Labone, the venue change comes in response to overwhelming demand for tickets, with the arena’s 4,000-seat capacity far exceeding that of the original location.

Set to be a memorable night, ticket prices for the event start at GHS150 for the popular stands, with VIP access priced at GHS500. 

Speaking ahead of the event, one of the promoters, Sawan Papa Nii Amoa of Legacy Fight Promotions, promised a spectacle. “We are blending entertainment and sports and it is going to be spectacular and explosive,” he said.

The headline fights will include bouts featuring some of Ghana’s biggest boxing talents, including light heavyweight Seth “Freezy Macbones” Gyimah (4-0, 3 KOs). 

One of the evening’s highlights is expected to be the World Boxing Organisation’s (WBO) Africa bantamweight title match between undefeated Ghanaian Daniel “Dr Gorsh” Gorsh (12-0, 9 KOs) and Benin’s experienced Ghislain “John Amuzu” Vodounhessi (25-2, 23 KOs).

The event will also showcase undercard fights with notable boxers such as Gideon Nortey, Felix Nunoo, Azumah Mohammed, Ben Abbey, and Isaac Neequaye. Alongside the boxing action, attendees can expect live entertainment performances, ensuring a thrilling blend of sport and spectacle.

The eagerly awaited “Golden Hands” boxing event will go ahead as planned on Saturday (14 September). Despite the recent change of venue to the Bukom Boxing Arena, tickets are still available for purchase at the original location, the Treehouse Restaurant in Labone.
