Wenchi: Police arrest eight suspected marijuana dealers in a swoop

At least eight suspects were picked up including a woman in a police swoop in Wenchi. They are between the ages of 19 and 80 years

The police in Wenchi in the Bono Region have set ablaze a base in Kaamu, a suburb of the municipality, on suspicion that the inhabitants were possessing marijuana.

At least eight suspects were picked up including a woman. They are between the ages of 19 and 80 years.

The suspects are currently in police custody assisting in investigations.

According to the police, dried leaves suspected to be marijuana were found at the base. The suspects will, however, be thoroughly screened and those found culpable during the swoop will be arranged before court, the police said.

The police intend replicating the operation in other parts of the municipality ahead of the Christmas festivities.
