We’re poised for successful by-election in Ejisu, says NPP

All nine individuals aspiring to contest in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary primary in the constituency have so far been given the green light by the vetting committee

About 1,081 delegates are expected to cast their vote on Saturday (13 April) to elect a new parliamentary candidate for the governing New Patriotic Party(NPP) in the Ejisu by-election triggered by the passing of Dr John Kumah.

John Kumah, aged 45, who served as a Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, succumbed to a brief illness, leaving behind a wife and six children.

All nine individuals aspiring to contest in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary primary in the constituency have been given the green light by the vetting committee.

The party has so far described the campaign by the aspirants as decent.

Speaking to Kwaku Nhyira-Addo on the Asaase Breakfast Show on Friday (12 April), Francis Adomako, NPP organiser for the Ashanti Region said all measures have been put in place to ensure a successful poll.

“All the aspirants have gone round to deliver their message, venue, security and all preparations with regards to tomorrow’s (Saturday, 13 April) event is on course.”

“As I speak to you, everything that the party needs to do with regards to Saturday’s poll has been done. We are only waiting for the Electoral Commission to come and conduct the poll, so everything is under control,” Adomako said.
