The chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC), Jean Mensa says the electoral body has demonstrated trust and transparency through its processes so far ahead of the 7 December polls.
The EC on Tuesday (1 October) walked all stakeholders through the various processes it has embarked upon to ensure a credible voter register ahead of the December polls.
Addressing political parties at the end of the first-ever televised Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting in Accra on Tuesday (1 October), Mensa said the EC has been proactive in addressing the concerns of the political parties.
”We believe that trust is built on transparency, the sharing of information, our responsiveness and providing the citizenry with facts and information and the evidence,” she said.
” And we believe as a Commission, we have demonstrated that we’ve been transparent. We’ve been responsive, we have not hidden any information.”
” We’ve been responsive in addressing the issues of the citizenry in a timely manner and we’ve provided them with evidence and facts… We’ve opened up all our processes to the citizenry,” Mensa said.
