The technical advisor for the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Wisdom Edem Gomashie, has emphasised the importance of unity within the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) as the country approaches the 2024 elections.

Gomashie was speaking at the inauguration of the Buem NPP constituency campaign team for the 2024 general elections.

He appealed to his followers to remain steadfast in their support for the party’s decisions, regardless of personal grievances.

Gomashie said the opposition NDC leader Mahama, would not serve the best interests of Ghana’s future generations.

He urged NPP supporters in the Oti Region to unite and throw their support behind Vice-President Bawumia.

He called upon party leaders to actively engage at the grassroots level, emphasising the need to bridge gaps and foster inclusivity within the party.

“If you want to be a leader, you must first be a servant of the people,” he stated.

He urged party leaders to connect directly with disgruntled members and prioritise reconciliation and stressed the importance of door-to-door engagements to ensure harmony and solidarity among all NPP members.

“NDC has no footprint record in the Buem constituency as the Member Parliament Kofi Adams has not done anything for the party hence the need to rally behind the NPP parliamentary candidate Richard Adjei to win power and change the fortunes of the constituency.”

“I have been motivated by the zeal and the love I have for my party [NPP] and I want the seat in Buem to be captured in this coming election and I will continue to support the party in my little ways,” he emphasised.

Gomashie urges all party members to support the grassroots members and executives to deliver their support and duties for a win.

Wisdom Edem Gomashie donated a cash amount of GHC5,000.00 to the campaign team with a motorbike to aid their movements within the Buem constituency.

On his part, the deputy director of the Coastal Development Authority, Bob-Charlse Agbontor, appealed to the newly elected campaign team never to relent on their efforts and mandates but rather unite and work hard for the party.

“Since the beginning of the 4th Republic, the seat has been in the hands of NDC in Buem yet no good development and we need to work hard to take up this seat and bring development to the area. This is our time to capture the seat for the party ” he indicated.

Bob Charles Agbontor assured the party members of providing them with logistics to aid their movements and boost their campaign strategies.

“Buem is very terrible under NDC because there is nothing to point at from Akaa, Bodada, Kute from Jasikan to Worawora until the NPP constructed the road from Dodi to Pepesu. And it is a clear indication that the NPP has good plans for the people of the Oti Region,” he said.

The municipal chief executive, Elizabeth Kessewah Adjornor, urged all party members to eschew division and backbiting and focus on helping for victory.

“It is high time we stop the discrimination and backbiting among ourselves and be united for victory in 2024. The party is doing a lot in the Jasikan municipality under the able leadership of Nana Addo and this must be preached out to Ghanaians”

She urged the communicators of the party to have their facts before going on the various radio or TV stations in order not to be frustrated by the opponent NDC.

The NPP parliamentary candidate for Buem, Richard Adjei, also assured the residents of his commitment to bring development to the area.

“I am ready to make a change in Buem in the education sector, health, road network, scholarships, and agriculture among others and I am convinced that if I win the Buem constituency seat, things will change for the better under NPP, ” he appealed.
