About MOBO
The MOBO award was founded by Ghanaian-Irish Kanya King in 1996 to discover, support, and create opportunities for young talents in the entertainment industry.
Over the years, the award show has witnessed performances from several superstars including Janet Jackson, Dionne Warwick, Lionel Richie, John Legend, Tina Turner, and Rihanna.
It has also provided a platform for artists like Craig David, Rita Ora and Stormzy to build their careers.
This year’s event was the first since 2017, after a two-year hiatus (2018 and 2019) before the coronavirus pandemic hit in 2020.
