Yagaba-Kubori MP sponsors twelve students to study law and medicine

The educational fund was launched in 2021 to support students who are qualified and willing to study law or medicine at any of the public universities in the country

The Member of Parliament for Yagaba-Kubori in the Mamprugu Moaduri District of the North East Region, Mustapha Ussif, has sponsored twelve students to study law and medicine in some public universities in Ghana.

The educational fund was launched in 2021 to support students who are qualified and willing to study law or medicine at any of the public universities in the country.

So far, twelve students, thus eight law students and four medical students, are currently benefiting from the initiative, and the MP promised to use a portion of his common fund to sponsor additional students in the Mamprugu Moaduri District.

The minister said he is paying everything for the beneficiaries at their universities of study, including tuition fees, accommodation, and learning materials.

“As we are today, we have about eight law students under this scholarship, and we also have four medical students at the medical schools studying medicine to become doctors. I am the one paying all of their school fees. So I want them to learn law and medicine, and the opportunity is open to everyone in this constituency,” Mustapha said.

He reiterated that the vision and the objective are to ensure that in the next 10 or 15 years, the name of the constituency should be mentioned because of the legal brains and medical doctors.

“The vision and the whole objective are to ensure that in the next ten years or in the next fifteen years, when they are going to be talking about lawyers, the Yagaba-Kubori constituency name should be mentioned in Northern Ghana. Everybody can benefit from this initiative.”

He called on the NDC, PNC, and CPP in Yagaba-Kubori to also bring their children to benefit from the scholarship package.

Mustapha Ussif has also supported over 200 tertiary students from his constituency with GHC1,000 each to help settle their school fees.
