The Minister of Energy Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh has described Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited (BOST) as one of the most successful state-owned companies under his tenure.

Opoku Prempeh lauded BOST for its pivotal role in the implementation of the Gold for Oil Policy, which he says has contributed significantly to stabilising the cedi.

Speaking at a Thanksgiving Service at the Cathedral Church of Most Holy Trinity over the weekend as part of 30th anniversary of BOST in Accra, Opoku Prempeh said the company now positioned to play a critical role in the country’s energy transition.

“…From a company saddled with debts and almost a decade of losses, 50% of its depots were not functioning and only 18% of its revenue earning assets were active, and all pipes were down.

“It pleases the hearts and minds that the board of directors and management of the company have over the last few years turned the company around, through their unwavering commitment to excellence and innovations we have seen a remarkable turnaround …”

“A company that has achieved two successive years of profit, GHC163 million in 2021 and another GHC343 million in 2022, people are now beginning to think your success is getting embedded in the workplace,” he said
