NBA: Draymond Green doesn’t regret choking Rudy Gobert

Draymond Green has made it clear that he wouldn't change anything after he served a five-match suspension for his part in a melee which took place during the In-Season Tournament game between the Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves. Green was ejected inside the opening two minutes of the game for a headlock on Rudy Gobert but said he has no regrets regarding the incident.

Draymond Green has said he has no regrets about choking Minnesota Timberwolves centre Rudy Gobert, an incident that led to a five-match suspension for the Golden State Warriors power forward.

During the opening two minutes of the In-Season Tournament game between the Warriors and the Timberwolves earlier this month, a scuffle broke out after Klay Thompson and Jaden McDaniels clashed in the middle of the court.

Gobert grabbed Thompson before Green intervened, put the Frenchman in a headlock, and dragged him away.

Green,Thompson, and McDaniels were ejected from the game and the Timberwolves went on to secure a 104-101 win over the Warriors at the Chase Center.

Following the game, the NBA announced that Green would serve a five-match suspension for his actions.

Speaking on Sunday, Green told reporters that he doesn’t regret his role in the melee.

“I don’t live my life with regrets,” Green said.

“I’ll come to a team-mate’s defense any time that I’m in a position to come to a team-mate’s defense.

“What matters to me is how the people that I care about feel, first and foremost.”

“How are the people that I care about affected? How are the people I care about, what do they have to deal with? That’s it for me.”

Green is eligible to return to action when Golden State travel to the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday.
