NSS releases outstanding July and August allowances

The National Service Scheme (NSS) has directed all immediate past national service personnel who have not yet been paid their July and August, 2014 allowances to contact their respective district directors of the Scheme for payment of their outstanding allowances.

The statement issued in Accra and signed by the Acting Executive Director of the Scheme, Dr. Michael Kpessa-Whyte stated that all personnel will be required to complete declaration forms which must be duly endorsed by their supervisors before they can be paid their allowances.

The statement commends all affected immediate past national service personnel for their patience, and urges them to co-operate with staff of the Scheme to make the exercise a success.

It will be recalled that the Payment of allowances to 2013/2014 National Service Personnel was suspended earlier this year to enable the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) undertake a thorough review of the NSS payment process
