181 file for MMDCE positions in Central Region

The list consists of 14 females and 167 males who will be seeking to occupy the 22 chief executive slots at the various assemblies

At least 181 members of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) have filed their nominations for consideration as Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) in the Central Region.

The list consists of 14 females and 167 males who will be seeking to occupy the 22 chief executive slots at the various assemblies.

The district with the highest number of aspirants is Asikuma Odoben Brakwa (22 aspirants) while districts like Twifo Atti Morquaa, Mfantseman, Cape Coast, Upper Denkyira East and West have a minimum of nine vying for the position.

Vetting for the aspirants began Friday 20 May at the Banquet Hall of the Central Regional Coordinating Council.

Richard Takyi Mensah, Central Regional Secretary who doubles as member of the vetting committee said the aspirants will be carefully screened to settle on the suitable candidates for the job.
