‘Prayer works, what you need is wisdom’ – Sam George inspires La CAC youth wing

Speaking to the La CAC youth and student ministry on Friday, October 28 during "Achiever's Night," the MP said, "Prayer opens doors; prayer works. You need wisdom, that's all. Prepare your work outside; get everything ready for yourself in the field, according to Proverbs 24:27, and then build your house"

La Christ Apostolic Church International hosts the Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram, Sam Nartey George, at its annual youth week event dubbed ‘Impacto 2022’.

Speaking to the La CAC youth and student ministry on Friday, October 28 during “Achiever’s Night,” the MP said, “Prayer opens doors; prayer works. You need wisdom, that’s all. Prepare your work outside; get everything ready for yourself in the field, according to Proverbs 24:27, and then build your house.”

Dzata, as he is affectionately called, explained the importance of work outside the church.

“Study to show yourself approved; a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. The problem with the church is that we are too spiritual about things that have to be physical.”

Look, when you walk by a farm that has been properly prepared, you will know. If you are planting a yam and you haven’t prepared the land, your yam will fail. What I want to teach you is to prepare your work.”

According to Dzata, we must lay the groundwork as Christians: “We must have what it takes to build our house. It is good enough to pray, to say God I want a breakthrough, But if you don’t work, how do you get your breakthrough? The days of manna falling from heaven are over.”

“You need to work for the Lord to bless the work of your hand, and so Christians must understand that our work and our walk with God should not only be spiritual. If you do not work, how do you bring fruit into his house?”

Christians in Politics

The MP, however, advised the congregation to debunk rumours of politics being “dirty”.

“It breaks my heart when the youth say politics is dirty and they don’t want to do anything political.”

“Can you show me where in the Bible it says that? For me, anything I believe in, I must reference the Bible, because if it is not in the Bible, it is not from God. So if politics is dirty, show it to me in the Bible.”

According to him, “I want to tell you that politics is a good thing and it’s for Christians.”

“The Bible says when the righteous sits on the throne, the people rejoice. It [the Bible] says pray for your leaders, so we need to see more Christians coming into politics. What is the church doing about growing more youth into politics? The church must rise.”
