UPSA hosts financial innovation and enterprise conference

It aims to foster research-based dialogue and knowledge sharing as catalysts for change in the financial and entrepreneurial sectors

All is set for the 4th edition of the Financial Innovation and Enterprise (FIE2023) Conference slated for Thursday (14 December) at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA).

The FIE Conference is a global annual gathering of industry leaders, scholars, policymakers and entrepreneurs.

It aims to foster research-based dialogue and knowledge sharing as catalysts for change in the financial and entrepreneurial sectors.

The FIE 2023 Conference is jointly convened by the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), Birmingham City University, the University of Sunderland in London, and the Institute for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (ISBE).

The two-day international conference themed: “Promoting Sustainable Enterprises in Developing and Emerging Economies” is scheduled to take place from December 14–15, 2023, at the UPSA campus.

The event which is in partnership with Asaase Radio will discuss emerging issues in finance, enterprise and innovation, entrepreneurial education and training, as well as sustainable entrepreneurial finance.

Speaking on the Asaase Breakfast Show on Wednesday(12 December), Ivy Heward-Mills, deputy director, public affairs at UPSA said the deputy Finance Minister Abena Osei Asare will be the keynote speaker.

“The host is going to be Prof Abednego Feehi Okoe Amartey, Vice-Chancellor of UPSA; together with the Pro Vice Chancellor who has played a very active role, our keynote speaker will be Abena Osei-Asare, Deputy Minister of Finance; Mrs Elsie Addo Awadzi, second deputy governor, Bank of Ghana will be there,” she said.

Other speakers are Professor Eileen McAuliffe, Pro Vice-Chancellor and Executive Dean at Birmingham City University; Dr. Richard Ampofo Boadu, Administrator, Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund); and  Kwame Osei-Prempeh, MD and Group CEO, Ghana Oil Company Limited (GOIL).

The programme will be streamed live on Asaase Radio social handles.
