CAF Confederation Cup: Club Africain humble ten-man Dreams FC in Tunisia

Dream FC conceded two goals in the first half before captain Abdulai Jalilu was sent off in the second half in their CAF Confederation Cup group stage defeat to Club Africain on Sunday.

Dreams FC suffered a two-nil defeat to Club Africain in the CAF Confederation Cup group stage opener on Sunday.

Karim Zito’s side conceded goals in 20 minutes before captain of the side Abdul Jalilu was sent for a second yellow card, 14 minutes into the second half at the Stade Olympique Hammadi Agrebi in Radès.

Algerian forward Tayeb Meziani opened the scoring in the 5th minute slotting a pass from Bassem Srarfi.

The Tunisians extended their lead to 2-0 in the 19th minute when Kingsley Eduwo followed up a rebound after Dreams’ goalkeeper Solomon Agbasi faltered in saving a long-range effort from Srarfi.

Dreams are now bottom in group c with Academia de Lotibo who lost to Nigerian side Rivers United 3-0.

They play against Rivers United next at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi next Sunday.
