CAF Champions League: Medeama fight back to beat CR Belouizdad in Kumasi

Kamaradini Mamudu‘s late header gave the Ghana Premier League Champions their first win of the group stage at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi

Medeama SC rallied from a goal down to beat Algerian side CR Belouizdad 2-1 in the CAF Champions League on Friday.

Kamaradini Mamudu‘s late header gave the Ghana Premier League Champions their first win of the group stage at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.

Even though the hosts dominated the first half, it was the Algerians who got the breakthrough from the penalty spot after Ishak Talal Boussouf was fouled inside the box.

Medeama responded on the stroke of half-time after a free-kick from Kamaradini Mamudu deflected from Daniel Lomotey to beat goalkeeper Alexis Guendouz.

The win takes Medeama to second place in Group D.

The Yellow and Mauves will welcome Tanzanian champions Young Africans SC to the Baba Yara Stadium next Friday in their last group game.
