Conference of Heads of Basic Schools to GES: Close down basic schools in Bawku

According to the teachers, the ban on the operations of tricycles also known as "yellow yellow" is taking a toll on their activities hence the need to close down schools

The Conference of Heads of Basic Schools (COHBS) has called for the closure of basic schools in the Bawku municipality over the deteriorating security situation.

COHBS in a statement said the lives of pupils and teachers cannot be guaranteed due to the worsening security situation in the area.

It is reported that the ban on the operations of tricycles also known as “yellow yellow” is taking a toll on teachers as they are unable to travel long distances to schools.

Parents are also having a difficult time taking their young children to school.
