Asaase Radio 99.5 launches mobile apps

Asaase Radio 99.5 has launched its latest digital platform: a free mobile app, available through the Apple and Google Play stores

Unveiled with a touch of showbiz razzmatazz at the headquarters of the pan-African radio station in Cantonments, Accra this latest software was developed by Digicraft – an ambitious, bijou tech company based in Dansoman, West Accra.

Henry Cobblah, lead developer at Digicraft, says his team is proud of its latest offering. It follows on the heels of an earlier launch of the highly successful Asaase Radio website, which is already drawing sky high views per day.

“What’s even more exciting,” said Cobblah, “is that we’ve created the mobile applications in Android and IoS. That makes it very, very easy for the people who want to connect to Asaase to do so.”

Cobblah notes that one of the key features of the app is its simplicity. “The app is very simple in terms of the user interface: how it looks and feels. We think it’s one of the most amazing things that we’ve had to share with the public.”

Feedback from around the country has been phenomenal, he said, adding that the Asaase app is even built to continue working when a user’s data runs out. That’s when the app’s offline functionalities kick in so users can continue to read the latest news stories.
Digicraft has also built a podcast that gives listeners a chance to enjoy all the programmes on the Asaase Radio station at their leisure.

“I think it’s important that we connect with our audience by providing them with what they regard as the most important information and entertainment. So, we’re looking at building new functionalities that best encapsulate what we project as the Asaase brand: the voice of the land,” said Cobblah.
