Dr Kwabena Duffuor Jr: Poster endorsing Mahama is fake

Dr Kwabena DuffuorJr., said he has not endorsed any candidate ahead of the NDC primaries which will be held on Saturday 13 May 2023

National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate aspirant for the Sekyere Afram Plains constituency and son on NDC flagbearer hopeful Dr Kwabena Duffuor, has described a poster circulating on social media where he said to have endorsed his father’s main challenger, John Mahama, as fake.

In a press release entitled “Unauthorized Campaign Materials”, dated 28 April 2023, Dr Kwabena DuffuorJr., said he has not endorsed any candidate ahead of the NDC primaries which will be held on Saturday 13 May 2023.

“I, Dr. Kwabena Duffuor I., would like to clarify some recent rumours circulating on social media. Firstly, I want to emphasize that I have not, and will not have a poster of mine with the picture of any aspiring Flagbearer.

“I want to make it clear that I have not authorized or endorsed any poster featuring a picture of myself alongside any aspiring Flagbearer. Any such fake posters in circulation are without my approval or sanction and are not representative of my position or views” the press release by KwabenaDuffuor Jr., read.

“As we approach the Presidential primaries, it is crucial that we all remember that the decision of who to elect as Flagbearer lies with the delegates. While I have confidence in my father, Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, as a competent leader for the NDC, it is not for me to make that decision.

“I extend my respect to all persons vying to lead the NDC, and I strongly advise those interested in causing mischief to cease their agenda. Discerning minds are observing and listening, and it is essential that we conduct ourselves with dignity and respect,” the press release further read.
