Eight Ghanaian former education ministers have called for the use of their cumulative expertise to help get the best for the nation’s education.
The former ministers, speaking in turns at the Ministry of Education in Accra, said that bringing people with diverse expertise to bear would go a long way towards identifying the best strategies and ideas. These could then be harnessed to push forward the nation’s development agenda.
The former ministers made this call at a meeting with the Education Minister, Dr Yaw Adutwum, on Monday (10 May 2021) in Accra.
Present at the meeting were Yaw Osafo-Maafo (2005-2006), Betty Mould Iddrisu (2011-2012), Professor Dominic Fobih (2007-2009), Ekwow Spio-Garbrah (2001), Joyce Aryee (1985-87), Professor Ameyaw Ekumfi (2001-2003), Paapa Owusu-Ankomah (2006-2007) and Christiana Amoako Nuamah (1997-98), who joined the discussion via Zoom.
