Election 2024: NPP diaspora group rally behind Bawumia with massive campaign in Ashanti Region

Established in 2022 by Ohemaaba Kaakyire, the group Diasporian Democratic Parliament for Dr Bawumia is focused on promoting Dr Bawumia's initiatives and capabilities to lead Ghana towards socio-economic development.

A group of New Patriotic Party (NPP) members in the diaspora has pledged overwhelming support for Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s presidential bid in the upcoming 2024 elections, aiming to break the eight-year political cycle.

Established in 2022 by Ohemaaba Kaakyire, the group Diasporian Democratic Parliament for Dr Bawumia is focused on promoting the NPP presidential candidate’s initiatives and capabilities to lead Ghana towards socio-economic development.

Abubakar Sirawaihr, the group’s secretary and country representative, emphasised Dr Bawumia’s stature as the best candidate for the presidency, citing his economic expertise, honesty, and credibility as qualities that inspire their support.

“At DDP, our conviction is that amongst all the individuals contesting the presidency, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia stands tall, and he is the best, especially with his background as an economist. He possesses qualities like honesty, credibility and what it takes to transform the country. These are some of the things that have inspired DDP FAN CLUB to come out as a voluntary group to support the vice president,’ he noted.

The group, according to Airawaihr plans to intensify campaigns in the Ashanti Region,”by sponsoring some of our communicators to go to radio stations to sell our leader, engaging with traders at Kejetia market and going to communication centers to tell the people more about our candidate”.

Abubakar Razak, the Metro Director for Youth Employment Agency, commended the group’s efforts, highlighting the importance of party members endorsing and supporting initiatives like the DDP FAN CLUB to ensure Dr Bawumia’s success in the upcoming elections.
