Torgbor Mensah funeral: AAG shows gratitude to Asaase Radio for support

Gabby Otchere-Darko said the late Torgbor Mensah was a marketing genius who was able to work with both sides of the divide without bias

  • "When all the political parties go to him for adverts, he’ll create the impression that he’s giving you the best impression and you’ll leave feeling that way that he’s given you the best, so both parties will leave happy."

A delegation from the Advertising Association of Ghana (AAG) on Thursday 3 March 2022 paid a courtesy call on the board chairman of the Asaase Broadcasting Company (ABC) Ltd, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko for the station’s support after the death of the president of the association, Torgbor Mensah.

Mansa Amoa-Awuah, the acting AAG president who led the delegation to Otchere-Darko said, “basically we’re here to say a big thank you to Asaase Radio for all the contributions you made towards the funeral of our late president. And to hope that we can continue to rely on you not in sad times but in happier times and for business as well. So, on behalf of everybody, thank you.”

In his brief remarks, Otchere-Darko indicated that the late Torgbor Mensah was a marketing genius who was able to work with both sides of the divide without bias.

“There’s something wonderful about him [Torgbor]. It didn’t matter where his heart was, politically. When all the political parties go to him for adverts, he’ll create the impression that he’s giving you the best and you’ll leave feeling that way that he’s given you the best, so both parties will leave happy. I mean, that’s the mark of his marketing ingenuity, if you like,” he stated.

Donation from Asaase Broadcasting

Asaase Broadcasting Company Ltd was the first media company to pay a formal call on leaders of the AAG after the death Mensah and donated items including cartons of water to the family of the late AAG leader.

In a book of condolence on Friday (5 November), Gabby wrote that, “he’s helped promote Ghanaian businessmen, political parties and generally helped shape the narration of Ghana as a place to do business”.
