Krachi West: MP to engage youth in skills training

11,832 candidates are expected to write this year's BECE in the Oti Region, and out of the numbers, 6,385 males and 5,446 females were registered in six centers

The MP for Krachi West, Helen Adwoa Ntoso, has said that she will enroll some youth in skills training in 2024 to be trained in various fields of their choice.

“Not everybody can make it in life through education, but God has blessed many people in this country through skills training,”  the lawmaker told Asaase News.

She said the programme will benefit most of the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates who may not make it to senior high school.

Ntoso, who happens to be the former Volta regional minister said Krachi West is one of the municipalities that is facing problems with the posting of teachers because of the difficulties teachers go through to teach.

This, according to her, is affecting teaching and learning in the area.

She has encouraged the candidates sitting this year’s examination to be prayerful and avoid any examination malpractices.

The Oti regional spokesperson of the Ghana Education Service, Raymond Kubuafor, said the candidates are well prepared for this year’s examination.
