New Juaben MCE-nominee unanimously approved
In a vote held on Thursday (14 July), all 24 assembly members voted to approve the nomination of Aboagye
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s new municipal chief executive (MCE) nominee for New Juaben, Omane Aboagye, has been unanimously approved by the assembly members.
In a vote held on Thursday (14 July), all 24 assembly members voted to approve the nomination of Aboagye.
Omane Aboagye was nominated by President Akufo-Addo for the post of MCE after members rejected Alexander Kwabena Sarfo-Kantanka.
Nomination
Aboagye’s nomination was announced by the Ashanti regional minister Simon Osei-Mensah a few weeks before the elections.
The position has been vacant for the past six months after elected assembly members rejected Sarfo-Kantanka on two occasions.
He is facing the high court after the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) charged him for bribery.
