North East Region: Gender minister supports flood victims

The items includes 13 hospital beds, three set of chairs, six motorbikes, theatre standing lamps, two fridges, 15 modern hospital tables, and several used clothes

Hajia Lariba Abudu Zuwera, the Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection, has given some hospital supplies to the West Mamprusi municipal health directorate in the North East Region to support flood victims.

The items includes 13 hospital beds, three set of chairs, six motorbikes, theatre standing lamps, two fridges, 15 modern hospital tables, and several used clothes for the flood victims in the region.

Five of the six motorbikes were handed over to CHPS compounds in the municipality – Nasia, Tinguri, Kurugu, Shelvoya, and Duu – while another was given to the municipal health directorate for office use.

The move taken by the gender minister, who doubles as the MP for Walewale constituency, is to heighten the quality of healthcare delivery in the area and also to sympathise with the flood victims.

The minister appealed for more support from well-meaning Ghanaians to support flood victims in the North East Region.

For his part, the North East Regional Minister Yidana Zakaria thanked Eurocare Diagnostic Centre and Dr Abass for their unwavering support and further urged the municipal health directorate to put the equipment to good use.
