UK-based police officer supports vulnerable people in Ho

The support was given by Change the Circle, a non-profit foundation founded by a United Kingdom-based police officer, Dickson Waidja

At least 100 female pupils of Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC) Junior High School, Ho Dome, in the Volta region have received sanitary pads free of charge.

The students were also educated on self-hygiene and given motivational messages to guide their lives. The support was given by Change the Circle, a non-profit foundation founded by a United Kingdom-based police officer, Dickson Waidja.

Change the Circle, after engagement with the pupils, moved to the Social Welfare Rehabilitation Centre in Ho, where the team donated items worth thousands of Ghana cedis.

The items included toiletries, assorted food items and beverages.

Gabriel Norbiga, director of the centre, thanked Dickson and his team for the gesture and called on other benevolent individuals and organisations to visit the centre and put smiles on the inmates during this yuletide.

The Ho rehabilitation centre was built some four decades ago. The centre currently houses over thirty inmates who are undergoing rehabilitation. Most of them are physically challenged.

Dickson said the aid was part of activities to celebrate this year’s Christmas. He carried out the project with support from a Ho-based non-governmental organisation, the Jean Monic Foundation.
