Utilise ICT hub to create solutions and innovations, says MTN

As part of the Girls-In-ICT programme,100 teacher trainers were trained to teach 1,000 selected girls from the seven districts in the Savannah Region

Ghana’s leading telecommunications service provider, MTN Ghana, has urged the Girls-In-ICT programme to utilize and take advantage of the information and communications technology (ICT) hubs in the country.

MTN Ghana, in March this year, partnered with the Ministry of Communications and Digitilisation to cut sod for the construction of a US$25 million ICT hub in Accra.

Adwoa Baah-Obeng (senior manager, retail experience, northern Ghana at MTN Ghana), in her address at Damongo on Tuesday during the climax of the training of 1,000 girls under the Girls-In-ICT programme, said the hub will provide an avenue to sustain the development of Ghana’s ICT aspirations.

She said, “MTN is proud of our 1,000 digital leaders who have just completed their foundational skills training in computing…We look forward to see all these talented girls utilize the ICT hub and other associated facilities to create solutions and innovations that will transform Ghana.”

As part of the Girls-In-ICT programme, 100 teacher trainers were trained to teach 1,000 selected girls from the seven districts in the Savannah Region.

Baah-Obeng thanked the teacher trainers and mentors for imparting the lifelong skills in the girls.

The theme for this year’s Girls-In-ICT programme is “Digital Skills for Life.”
