VIDEO: I’m bitter … I can’t forgive them, says Kennedy Agyapong

The Member of Parliament for Assin Central says he cannot forgive those who insulted him during the NPP presidential primaries that took place late last year

The MP for Assin Central in the Central Region, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, says he is bitter because of the way some of his colleagues treated him while he was contesting for the flagbearer position of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).

In the NPP presidential primary held late last year, Vice-President Bawumia obtained 118,210 votes, or 61.47% of the total valid vote cast, beating his main contender, Agyapong, who obtained 71,996 votes, representing 37.41% of the votes.

Speaking in a yet-to-be-aired interview with Kwaku Sintim-Misa on Pan African Television, Agyapong said he was embittered by the experience, but not because Dr Bawumia won the primary.

“It is not every MP who didn’t vote for me that I’m angry at. No, everybody has a choice. But the very people who were my friends that I have helped to come to Parliament

“… It’s not the betrayal but the bad things they said about me, that is where I have the problem.

“So who says I’m not bitter? I am bitter not because the vice-president won: I am bitter because the people that I have helped … the insults,” Agyapong said.
