Acting Volta Regional health director to contest NDC Keta seat

He served as the chairman for the Keta branch of the National Democratic Congress from 2011 to 2014. He also served as the chairman for the Keta Constituency of the party from 2014 to 2019.

The acting Volta Regional director of the Ghana Health Service, Senanu Kwesi Djokoto, has been vetted to contest four other aspirants for the parliamentary seat in the Keta Constituency of the Volta Region. He was vetted on Wednesday 5 April.

Djokoto has served the party in capacities and believes this the right time to serve as a member of parliament. He said “this is the right time that a man like myself, well supported by the multitudes in Keta, it’s time for me to lead Keta.

“There’s a big deficit within Keta constituency that has to be corrected.”

His contenders seek to prioritise youth empowerment, job creation, tourism and education. Djokoto said when he’s given the mandate he will address issues confronting the constituency one after the other. He added, “that will be in conformity with the democratic norms within the party and within the country.”

Djokoto picked the fourth position on the ballot.

He served as the chairman for the Keta branch of the National Democratic Congress from 2011 to 2014 and as the chairman for the Keta Constituency from 2014 to 2019.

Djokoto was very influential in the fight against Covid-19 and other health issues in the Volta Region over the years.

Djokoto is in his early 40s and a native of Anyako in the Keta enclave.
