Bawumia is NPP’s hope for election 2024, says Apostle Agyenim Boateng

Apostle Agyenim Boateng also stated that the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, is the NPP's most strategic candidate for the 2024 polls

Senior Pastor of the Peniel Outreach Ministries International and televangelist/host of “Awurade Akasa” on Angel TV/FM, Apostle Agyenim Boateng, has stated that the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, is the New Patriotic Party’s most strategic candidate and choice if the party really wants to retain power after the December 2024 presidential and parliamentary election.

Apostle Agyenim Boateng preaching on his daily devotional on Angel TV also cautioned delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) not to make a mistake and elect Kennedy Agyapong as the party’s presidential candidate because he has constantly demonstrated his disrespect for the Church of God in Ghana.

“I have a lot of respect for hon. Kennedy Agyapong, however, when the COVID-19 pandemic broke out in Ghana, Kennedy Agyapong rose up against the church with the aim of disgracing the church. He had the audacity to state that if he was the sitting President, he would have collapsed “one-man churches”. Sadly, this same man now needs the votes of the church” Apostle Agyenim Boateng said.

“I am declaring today that the only hope of the NPP is Dr Mahamudu Bawumia. Without the [Vice President], the NPP will lose the 2024 elections. I would be extremely surprised if the party is able to secure up to 38% of the vote without Dr Bawumia as the party’s candidate. I came with a word of caution, if the NPP wants to win the 2024 elections, they must be very careful” the Angel TV/FM Pastor proclaimed.

NPP’s presidential primaries

The over two hundred thousand (200,000) delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will on Saturday 4 November 2023, vote to elect the party’s presidential candidate for the December 2024 general elections.

Four aspirants are contesting for the candidature and they are the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, MP for Assin Central in the Central Region, Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto, former Minister for food and agriculture and Francis Addai-Nimoh, former NPP member of Parliament for the Mampong constituency in the Ashanti Region.

After balloting for their positions on the ballot paper ahead of the 4 November polls, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, picked the number one position on the ballot, Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia picked the number two spot and Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto and Francis Addai-Nimoh picked the third and fourth positions, respectively.
