Bimbilla: Four suspected kidnappers arrested

The four suspects were picked up in the Northern and Oti Regions and are currently in custody helping with investigations

The police in Bimbilla have arrested four persons believed to be behind some kidnapping activities in the area.

A 45-year-old cattle owner, Afa Jamal in Bimbilla, was reportedly released by the suspects after his family was asked to pay a ransom of GHS10,000.

The suspects who are all herdsmen were picked up by the police in their various hideouts in the Nanumba North Municipality of the Northern Region and Nkwanta in the Oti Region.

The Bimbilla Municipal police commander DSP Gamalle Vorvor who confirmed the arrests to Asaase News said investigations are currently ongoing.

This is the third time the area is experiencing a kidnapping incident in less than a year.
