COVID-19: 2,842,857 vaccinated in Ghana, death toll now 1,169

The country’s COVID-19 active cases have dropped marginally to 2,338 with 41 persons in severe condition

Nine more persons have died of COVID-19 taking Ghana’s death toll to 1,169 , the latest update from the Ghana Health Service (GHS) said.

The country’s active cases have also dropped marginally to 2,338 after 58 new coronavirus cases were confirmed at the laboratories.

As at 15 October 2021, the GHS reports that the country’s total confirmed cases increased to 129, 592, out of which 126, 085 have recovered.

So far, 111 cases have been classified as severe while 41 remain critical, according to GHS.

Cases detected at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) are 2,861 with 2,749 recoveries so far.

Vaccination

So far 2,842,857 persons have been vaccinated across the country as at 21 October 2021, the Ghana Health Service said.
