Duffuor and others must eye parliamentary seats, says NDC chairman

About 10 regional chairpersons endorsed Mahama verbally in Ho during his campaign launch on Thursday (2 March)

The council of regional chairmen of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has endorsed former president, John Dramani Mahama, as flagbearer of the party.

About 10 regional chairpersons endorsed Mahama verbally in Ho during his campaign launch on Thursday (2 March).

The Oti regional chairman of the party, Kwadwo Gyapong, who spoke on behalf of the council, called on other individuals who have an interest in the flagbearer position to step down and rather support Mahama.

Gyapong challenged Kwabena Duffuor and Kojo Bonsu, who are aspiring flagbearers, not to contest. He suggested that they go to their respective constituencies and contest the parliamentary seats.

He added that the party needs an astute candidate like Mahama as its flagbearer, adding that the delegates must rally behind the former leader to succeed.
