Police Headquarters fire: no casualties recorded

A statement by the Ghana Police Service issued on Thursday (9 February) said there had been no casualties from the fire outbreak in Cantonments, Accra

The National Fire Service (GNFS) has succeeded in dousing a fire that nearly razed part of one of the buildings at the Police Headquarters in Accra to the ground.

A statement issued by the police on Thursday (9 February) said no casualties were recorded in the inferno.

“There is a fire outbreak in one of the buildings at the Police Headquarters in Accra. The Ghana National Fire Service is at the scene and has succeeded in bringing the situation under control,” the statement said.

“There are no casualties and the cause of the fire is yet to be established.

“We wish to thank the fire service team and our officers who are assisting to ensure that the fire did not spread to the entire building,” the police statement said.
