GWCL: Parts of Ashanti Region to experience interruption in water supply

According to the Ghana Water Company Ltd (GWCL), the shutdown was due to technical challenges on the Qwabi Treatment Plant on Sunday(18 June)

Parts of theĀ Ashanti Region are experiencing an interruption in water supply following a shutdown of the Owabi Treatment Plant, a statement from the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) has said.

According to GWCL, the shutdown was due to technical challenges at the Owabi Treatment Plant on Sunday (18 June).

The affected areas include Asuoyeboah, Tanoso, Apatrapa, Pokukrom, Bobankye, Nyankyereniase, Esaase, Akropong, Ntensere, Mfensi and Koforidua.

Others areĀ Manhyia, Maakro, Agogo, Twedie, Nkawie, Mim, Toase, Afari, Wiosi, Abuakwa and its environs.

A statement issued by GWCL said itsĀ engineersĀ are working to resolve the challenge to ensure the flow of water to the affected areas.
