Host of Asaase Radio’s Energy 101 invited to Russia to attend 2022 Atomexpo

Atomexpo is a leading global platform bringing together international experts, state authorities, non-governmental organisations, and businesses

Emmanuel Aboagye-Wiafe, Asaase 99.5 Accra’s coordinating news editor and host of Energy 101, has been invited to attend the 2022 ATOMEXPO in Sochi, Russia.

The expo starts from 21 to 22 November 2022.

The XII International Forum ATOMEXPO 2022 is being hosted by Rosatom, State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom (ROSATOM).

The organisation is one of global technological leaders, with capacities in the nuclear sector and beyond, and business partners in 50 countries.

Atomexpo is a leading global platform bringing together international experts, state authorities, non-governmental organisations, and businesses for a discussion of pressing issues of innovative development based on nuclear technologies. Two energy journalists have been invited from Ghana to participate in this yearā€™s forum.

Nuclear Power Ghana (NPG) is the project organisation set up to manage Ghanaā€™s first nuclear power project. NPG has been designated to be the eventual owner and operator of Ghanaā€™s first nuclear power plant.

Aboagye-Wiafe has demonstrated a good understanding of nuclear power and at a recent workshop organised by the NPG received a special award for distinguishing himself. He has participated in several nuclear energy capacity building programmes with the Nuclear Programme Ghana (NPG).

Nuclear energy is of particular importance given the global priority of combating climate change. The nuclear industry possesses one of the cleanest and most reliable power generation technologies and accepts its responsibility in ensuring an efficient energy transition in countries and regions around the world.

This is why the theme for this yearā€™s Atomexpo forum: “Nuclear spring: creating sustainable future” is important.

The programme of the forum includes a plenary session, as well as thematic round tables and panel discussions with participation of a wide range of stakeholders from around the world aimed at discussing the role of the nuclear energy in combatting climate change and the contribution of nuclear technologies to the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Energy 101 airs every Monday from 7pm to 8pm.
