Kpasenkpe: Chief and youth support STEM SHS

The food items presented are; 12 bags of maize, 22 bags of rice, a printer, two size 60 cooking pots and 1 size 20 cooking pot

The youth in the West Mamprusi Municipality have presented some food items to the Kpasenkpe Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics School (STEM) SHS as their support to the school for admitting its first batch of students for the 2022/2023 academic year.

The food items presented are; 12 bags of maize, 22 bags of rice, a printer, two size 60 cooking pots and 1 size 20 cooking pot.

The headmaster of the school, Amadu Mamudu Delwende Timbilla and his staff had visited the paramount chief of the Wulugu Traditional Area, John Sebiyam Nabila Pugangso, earlier to officially inform him about the reporting of the first batch of students into the STEM school.

The chief donated GHC5,000 as his support for the new school to run its academic activities effectively.

The move by the paramount chief motivated the youth to support the school with the food items. The food items were handed over to the school authorities by the elders of the Kpasenkpe community.

The school is currently running four focused science programmes, namely; robotics, aerospace/aviation, bio-medicals and engineering with an enrolment of 414 students for the 2022/2023 academic year.

At the donation ceremony, the Assemblyman for the Kpasenkpe electoral area, Ibrahim Sebiyam, stated that the chief is so elated that the government has given the Kpasenkpe community one of the STEM schools the NPP government promised Ghanaians.

He said “he [the paramount chief] is so happy that the president, the vice president and the NPP government will think about the development of his traditional area and has assigned one of the best STEM schools currently in the country to his traditional area.”

The headmaster of the school thanked the paramount chief and the youth of the Kpasenkpe for their support. He advised the students to be disciplined and take their studies seriously to make the school proud.

The elders of the community urged the students to stop loitering in town and concentrate on their books so that they can be great people in the future.
