Savannah Region: Abu Jinapor pays full cost of surgery for constituent

The MP for the Damongo constituency, Samuel Abu Jinapor, has paid the full cost of surgery for a resident of Yipal in the West Gonja Municipality of the Savannah Region.

The lawmaker requested that the municipal chief executive for the area follow up on Janet and send him her medical bills.
Laboratory reports showed that Janet had a spindle cell sarcoma (recurring tumor) which could be treated through a surgery.
The legislator paid over GHC15,000 for the surgery at the Emmanuel Refuge Clinic in Tamale in the Northern Region.
Ighohwo Etuh, a plastic and reconstructive surgeon, after Janet’s successful surgery, said although financial difficulties contribute to some late reporting at the hospital, some cases can be cured when reported early.
He urged people who are well-to-do to help the less privileged in society. He said Janet will be monitored over the next two years to make sure there is no recurrence.
The municipal chief executive for West Gonja Municipal, Karim Musah Kusubari, who facilitated the gesture on behalf of the Jinapor, visited Janet at the clinic to assess how she was doing after the surgery. Janet smiled at him when she saw him at the hospital. This made him happy.
He recounted how supportive Jinapor has been to his constituents by paying for their medical bills.
Janet thanked the member of parliament for coming to her aid.
She said “I’m grateful to him for saving my life. I thank God for giving us such a God-fearing MP like him.”
